Dear Hillside Families,

We have had a wonderful return from winter break and jumped right back into learning! Our students have been working incredibly hard and recently completed their Winter STAR assessments. These computer-based assessments give us important insight into student growth in reading and math and help guide our instruction moving forward. Our Multilingual Learner (MLL) students have also begun the WIDA assessment, a state-required test that measures English language proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing. We are proud of the effort our students are showing and look forward to celebrating their growth.

In March, we look forward to welcoming families for our Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences as we continue partnering together to support your child’s success. We are also excited to host one of our favorite family events of the year — March Mathness on March 19th from 5:00–6:30 PM! Like our recent reading night, this event will include three fun rotations filled with interactive math games and activities for families to enjoy together. March Mathness is a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, celebrate problem-solving, and show students that math can be engaging and fun.

We are grateful for the strong partnership we share with our families and community and look forward to celebrating learning and growth together in the weeks ahead. Thank you for your continued support of our Hillside students and staff!
