Dear Hillside Families,

I am excited to start a new school year.  The first day of on-line learning will be September second.  There has been a lot of information shared about the start of school and if you need to review anything sent in an e-mail or phone call, you can always check the Hillside Web Site.  That web site can be located under schools at the Clover Park district web site.  I will also attach information on this message about technology distribution.

The on-line learning will look very different than what we did at the end of the school year.  Students will be placed in either an AM or PM class time.  This is time to meet with teachers and get direct instruction.  The rest of the day have assignments to complete, recorded video learning, fun activities, and PE. Music and Technology.  If your child’s placement does not work for your schedule, please contact their teacher to make different arrangements.

Attendance will be taken in the first 15 minutes of the class time. If your student is not logged in during that attendance time you may receive a recorded call.  We will be tracking attendance just like regular school and contacting the office due to sick days or appointments is appreciated.

The following is important information about technology distribution for the start of school. Each student will be provided a Clover Park School District laptop/device for the school year. We will distribute devices by grade level on August 31st at Hillside Elementary (under the covered play shed).

It important you bring the following items with you:

  • Your identification
  • Your district-issued laptop (if you received one last spring and have not yet returned it), so you can receive an updated one

When you arrive, you will be issued:

  • Informed of who your student's teacher will be.
  • First Day packet with instructions, CPSD Family Handbook and our Hillside Parent Handbook.
  • District-issued laptop, charger and computer handbook
  • Learning materials you will need to begin the year

Important Reminders

  • You must return any district-issued laptop received last year to receive an updated device. Please keep your hot spot if received.
  • You or a staff member must log into the laptop using district wi-fi before leaving the check-out area.

Your safety is our priority and we have safety protocols in place. A face covering must be worn at all times while on school property and 6 feet minimum social distancing must be maintained. If a parent is unable to attend, a relative who is listed in Skyward and has a note from the parent may pick up a device for the student. If you have a special circumstance with your time, please call the office to make other pick-up arrangements.

Distribution Schedule

If you have students in several grades, please use your oldest student’s scheduled time.



8-9:20 a.m.

Pre-K through K

9:20-10:40 am.

Grade 1

10:40 am.-noon

Grade 2

12-1:20 p.m.

Grade 3

1:20-2:40 p.m.

Grade 4

2:40-4 p.m.

Grade 5

Teacher Assignments will be available on August 31st.  Students with last names starting with A-L will be placed in AM instruction and M-Z in PM instruction. Please let us know of any special circumstances that may require changes to this schedule after teacher assignments are made.
